1970 - 1981 Firebird Ford 9" Ridetech Housing & Axle Set, Narrow Width
Upgrade your 1970 - 1981 Firebird with Ridetech's Ford 9” Rear Axle Housings. Designed for newer Ridetech 4-Link systems (with angled upper bars), these housings come pre-welded with 4-Link and sway bar brackets for a hassle-free bolt-in installation.
Built to handle serious torque, the 9” housings feature a webbed center section with internal gussets, 1/4” wall 3” diameter tubes, and billet steel flanges (New Style Big Bearing/Torino). The pinion is offset 1/2" and the axle flange 2 1/2", with stock and narrowed widths available for mini-tub applications.
Each housing includes a drain plug, jack pad, and Grade 8 T-bolt hardware, plus pre-installed 3rd member studs. Available in black powder-coat or raw finish to suit various build stages.
31-spline axles are heat-treated 1541H alloy, with a 5” x 4 3/4" bolt pattern and Grade 8 1/2"-20 x 2” wheel studs. Timken SET20 bearings are pressed on and include bearing retaining plates.
3rd Members feature a Yukon nodular iron case, aluminum Daytona pinion support, 1350 billet steel yoke, Timken bearings, and an Eaton Trutrac differential for superior traction and handling. Gear ratios available: 3.50, 3.70, 3.89, or 4.11. LubeLocker gaskets prevent leaks and are reusable.
