1970 - 1981 Firebird and Trans Am Console Automatic Shifter Plate and Silver Engine Turned Metal Insert Set

Brand new automatic transmission console shifter plate and turned swirl metal insert set for your Firebird or Trans Am. Exact fit for all Special Edition models but can be added to any 70 - 81 you choose. OE style engine turned swirl texture and details. Get the correct fit and appearance with this new shifter plate set. Includes lower wiring light housing and lens with exact lettering (P-R-N-D-S-L). Replaces original GM Part number # 480730.

Please note that the turned swirl metal insert does not come pre-installed on the shifter plate.

The turned swirl metal insert is longer on both the top and bottom by about .5mm on each end. and requires sanding to fit. You have to sand both in order for the center slots to lineup evenly (if your like me). Finish is great no issues there. Plus is the screw holes are metal inserts and not plastic like my original one is. 3 stars only because its a package and the insert should fit properly.

I bought this kit as a replacement for the damaged/worn out shifter plate in my '76 Trans Am. It fit the console exactly and matched the look of the OEM shifter plate assembly. I'm very pleased with the overall product,but need to mention that the silver engine turned cover needs some kind of adhesive to keep it flat. It fits tightly in the trim recess,but any bump or vibration will make it pop up out of the recess. The product description doesn't mention the need for adhesive, but it does need something to help hold it in place. Other than that, great product with OEM look.
