Description Technical Specs   1978 - 1981 Firebird Steering Column Intermediate Shaft New intermediate steering shaft for Late 78 - 81 Firebird or Trans Am models. This shaft goes from your steering column down to your the steering box, Rag Joint is included! Exact fit for all LATE 1978 - 1981 models; with power or manual steering. On this version at the steering column the fastening bolt goes directly through the center of the steering shaft, NOT to the side as found on 70 - Early 78 production columns. This shaft fits late 78 - 81 models with center bolt hole on the shaft. Commonly called a "Double D". Fits all 6 cylinder and V8 models with Manual or Power Steering. *Note this is for mid 78 - 81, check your upper Shaft to Steering Column joint bolt is NOT on the SIDE, particularly if you have a 78 model.
